I love this so much! It has become a favorite in our home; along with family and friends.
4 bananas
1 Tbsp Coconut oil (optional)
1/4 cup agave or honey
1tsp vanilla or one vanilla bean
Cut bananas in small pieces and freeze the night before.
Mix Vanilla with honey or agave the night before (you could also use mint and then just take the mint leaves out the next day).
Mix all ingredients in food processor (you could use a blender but if you do only add a little banana at a time). You will have to scrape down the sides a few times. When it is creamy and fluffy then it is time to eat.
There are so many things you could do with this recipe.
Enjoy!

I just made this and it was...FANTASTIC!!!!! Why did we ever eat the junky stuff before?? It was a hit with my almost 3 year old and husband, and I was thinking that it would be really easy to do this with frozen peaches, or do a mixed frozen berry ice cream. I didn't have any coconut oil on hand, so I did it just with agave and vanilla, but it was so fabulous. This is the first dessert I have made on this lifestyle, because I was too scared of throwing us off, but I didn't feel bad about this one at all!
ReplyDeleteEm we had this on Sunday. Yummo! We topped ours with fresh diced strawberries and it was delish! Even Corey (who grimaced through watching me make it) was super impressed. Do you prefer it with honey or agave? I did agave, but was wondering if maybe I would like honey better...
ReplyDeleteShay, You should never feel bad about eating a banana. Fruit is so good for you and your body desperately wants it. I am glad you are with us:)
ReplyDeleteAhs, I use agave but I did it with honey once and loved it even more. It just gives it a different flare.
Mmm... Honey would be great. I will try that next time. I got a big food processor (meaning a processor with a 4 cup bowl instead of a 2 cup bowl) for Christmas and I used it for the first time on this and it burned the motor up. Frozen bananas?
ReplyDeleteI really need to get a Blendtech!!! I want one so bad, and one of my students' dad-that's his company- was saying they just got to bring home the new model of the Blendtech this last week and it does a lot of cool things...they've been making their own peanut butter, almond butter, etc. Jealousy... :)
