My distant cousin just sent me this recipe and I intend to make it as soon as I get more dates (I completely ran out from making date balls so many times... haha).
1/4 - 1/2 cup almond milk (or other nut milk)
1 cup dates (pitted and tightly packed)
1 tsp vanilla
dash of salt
Blend in a high-powered blender until smooth. Serve with sliced apples. You can't believe how much this tastes like caramel!

So going to try this today.... ;)
ReplyDeleteOkay, so I just made this, and by itself I was not such a fan, but with apples, it is pretty much just as good as apples dipped in caramel. What did you think Katie?
ReplyDeleteI have actually made this sauce many times over the past year and I love it! I have a raw samoa and thin mint girl scout cookie recipes I should post. You use a sauce similar to this.
ReplyDeleteHeehee....still haven't tried this actually. We've taken to making Emily's popsicles so much that that has been our go to treat for the summer. Emily, PLEASE DO post the cookie recipes. My husband would love you forever.
